DO NOT Eat Peanut Butter? You Will Change This Habit!
Despite the fact that the peanut butter is high caloric, eating four tablespoons of it reduces the risk of obesity.
At first it sounds unbelievable that peanut butter, which in 100 grams contains more than 500 calories, reduces obesity. But, this fact was confirmed by a 12-week study published in the "Journal of Applied Research on Children", which was jointly conducted by scientists from the University of Houston and the Medical Faculty in Texas.
The study involved 257 school children who had an increased risk of obesity, and the results of performed studies show that those teenagers who included peanut butter in their diet reduce body mass index (BMI) compared to their peers who do not eat peanut butter. Nearly fifty percent of respondents ate peanut butter 3-4 times a week, while other ate peanut butter less than once a week.
However, scientists warn that the butter should be eaten in moderation, because unhealthy eating habits are the most common cause of excessive weight. This mostly happens when pupils do not have access of healthy and balanced meals during the day.
One of the participants of the research team advises parents to offer peanut butter to their children in exchange for unhealthy snacks. He pointed that the fight against obesity requires creative solutions that help people manage their weight, appetite and hunger in a way that is socially acceptable choice of variety of food.
